The melting furnace releases a large amount of exhaust gas during the production process, which contains various harmful substances and poses a serious threat to the health of operators, causing damage to the surrounding ecological environment; In addition, the production of high temperatures and flammable substances during melting poses a significant threat to personnel and property safety if not handled properly or if there are leaks.

The composition, characteristics, collection methods, and treatment equipment solutions of the smoke and exhaust gas from the melting furnace are as follows:

Composition: The exhaust gas from the melting furnace mainly comes from the preheating and combustion process of industrial products, which includes harmful substances such as acid mist, dust particles, SO2, and fluoride. There are many components in waste gas treatment, and the commonality is that most of them are acidic. Generally, alkaline substances such as ammonia and sodium hydroxide are added for neutralization reaction to achieve the purpose of purifying waste gas. In practical applications, appropriate neutralizing agents and operating conditions should be selected based on specific circumstances.

Features: The flue gas of the melting furnace has several significant characteristics. Firstly, the small particle size of dust in the flue gas makes it more difficult to effectively collect the dust. Secondly, due to the possibility that multiple smelting furnaces may share a dust removal system and the production of each furnace may not be synchronized, the total amount of flue gas processed may fluctuate widely. In addition, the dust concentration in the flue gas of the smelting furnace will also undergo significant changes at different production stages (such as feeding period, melting period, and insulation period), and the dust concentration during the melting period is usually the highest. At the same time, the flue gas has a high moisture content and dew point temperature, but due to the usually high flue gas temperature, it can effectively prevent flue gas condensation. Finally, the temperature of the furnace flue gas is also very high, and the temperature of the furnace flue gas during the melting and insulation periods is generally greater than 800 ℃.

Collection method: The collection method of smoke, dust and waste gas mainly includes the use of dust collection chamber, cyclone dust collector, weak alkali spray tower (spray dust collector+alkaline substances), bag type dust collector and other equipment. Dust collection room is the simplest way of dust collection equipment, and cyclone dust collectors (also known as centrifugal dust collectors) are widely used in many enterprises due to their low investment and good performance. The spray type dust collector captures the particles in the gas by making the solution droplets fall. After the particles are wet, they will also absorb other particles. Finally, they are collected into the dust collection chamber due to gravity. The bag dust collector achieves the dust collection effect by passing the dusty gas through the filter bag.

Solution for processing equipment: The main equipment for processing smoke, dust, and waste gas from melting furnaces includes dust removal equipment and desulfurization equipment. Dust removal equipment such as electrostatic precipitators, wet electrostatic precipitators, and bag filters can effectively purify particulate matter in flue gas and reduce emission concentration; In addition, when designing waste gas treatment plans for the melting furnace industry, comprehensive consideration should be given to the specific situation of the waste gas, and a reasonable choice should be made whether to use spray towers for cooling treatment. If the exhaust gas temperature is high, it is recommended to use a spray tower for pretreatment to ensure the stable operation and efficient treatment of the entire exhaust gas treatment system. Desulfurization equipment is used to remove sulfur dioxide from flue gas, and common desulfurization equipment includes wet desulfurization and dry desulfurization.

 

In addition to the application of equipment, controlling the combustion process, regularly inspecting and maintaining equipment, and taking comprehensive measures such as optimizing production processes and improving the energy efficiency of smelting furnaces are also key to reducing the quantity and concentration of flue gas emissions.
